Wings by Aprilynne Pike

I don't know how I feel about this book
I have so many mixed feelings about this book. It's good, but it's also pretty bad. My friend let me borrow this book. Which I'm happy about because yay I have a friend who reads. She was wicked into it, so naturally I also wanted to be wicked into it, but I knew I was in for a bumpy ride after the first page. The writing style is... well ... flat. There is way way too much dialogue. The characters are terrible. The main character, Laurel, is such a mary-sue and it's so in your face obvious.

But I decided to push through it for Lyv. At about page 100 my view began to change. One of the good things I can say about this book is the plot. It's basically about a girl who is like omg why did i suddenly grow a flower on my back, opps I'm in love with two guys at once (that's not cliche at all), and come on mom and dad don't sell the land to that guy he's creepy. Two guys? Team Tamani! But enough of that. There is one character that stands out to me, mostly because I see myself in her. Chelsea, a girl with crazy curly hair, who's blunt, and just completely fabulous. Too bad she's a minor character. What really caught my attention about her is that she's in love David (Laurels other love interest) and even though she loves him she tells Laurel it's okay if she dates him. I did something very similar once. I hope that causes problems between Chelsea and Laurel in the next three books.

Which brings me to a very important question: Am I going to even read the rest of the series. Probably. I've heard the last book is the best. Maybe Pike's writing will show improvement through the rest of the books.

Warriors: Forest Of Secrets by Erin Hunter

I recommend this book
And the alliances shift again! The third warriors book is so far the best. I cannot even begin to tell you all the pheels this book brings. (pheels: strong feelings, ph because in the avengers movie Agent Phil Coulson, it was really sad and the whole world cried). Remember that forbidden romance in the last book? Yeah that makes me cry. There are parts in this book that make me laugh. And then there are ones that make me want to throw the book across the room and scream. This book is good. This book is really good. And so far everyone tells me that they just get better and better. Take the two hours out of your day and read these books.

Warriors: Fire and Ice by Erin Hunter

I recommend this book
In my opinion not as good as the first one but still really really really good. I'm starting to understand why somebody took the time out of their day to write 24 books about cats. While I may be a dog person these books have really grabbed my attention. The sequel picks up right where the first book left off. Which really pleased me. I hate when the first book ends and then the second book picks up with where the character is six months later. You will find in this book the big topic is: Loyalty. Which I always found to be a pretty important value. Alliances are formed and broken throughout the book. And whats this? A forbidden love? What! No way! Yes folks I have read it all now. There is a forbidden love... going on between cats. Also, not forbidden, I found myself really shipping Fireheart and Sandpaw. For those of you who don't know what shipping is it's when you want two characters to be together. I never thought I would be shipping cats. This is just crazy. Honestly at this point I feel emotionally attached to these characters. I haven't been attached to fictional characters like this since I read The Hunger Games. Read this series. You won't regret it.

A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams

I do not recommend this book
So this is the worst book that I have ever been forced to read. Stupid school making me read stupid shit. This was possibly the most boring book ever. I am glad it is over. Don't read it.

Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

I do not recommend this book
This book is terrible. I can't even put that nicely or say it in any other way. The way it's written just drives me insane. The author clearly had no idea what she was talking about. This is just the saddest excuse for a book ever. Honestly it is the worst thing I have ever willingly read. I can't even stress enough how bad it is. I know I just keep saying it's bad and not explaining why but I just cant even begin to describe how bad it is.

I think what bothered me most is the writing style and the way the characters speak. It's written in third person (he/she/they/ in other words, not narrated by the character)  which I don't exactly like but I can put up with if the writing is good. But the writing wasn't good. And even though the writing was in third person each chapter was like "aria" and then "peregine" and then the narrator would talk about what that character was doing, even though both the characters were present in that situation and it didn't have to be done that way. It was actually really annoying and it made me want to change everything to first person. The way the characters speak is equally annoying. The conversations they had didn't seem realistic, which is a giant pet peeve of mine. I always say that you can fix bad writing with good characters but in this case the characters were almost as bad as the writing. Please save yourself some time and do not read this book. I will not be reading the next one.

Warriors: Into The Wild by Erin Hunter

I recommend this book
So clearly this book has been out for a while and by now most people have read it. I ran out of books and while I was waiting for my mother to pick me up Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi I needed a book to read while I waited. My sister had given me these cat books a while ago to read and I was like "yeah, I'll totally read these" but it was more to just be nice. And I must say, now that I've read the first one, I'm pleasantly surprised.

At first I didn't want to read it because it is about cat warrior clans. First: I hate cats. Like what even are cats doing. Second: I thought they were for children. But the books are actually really really really really really well written. I was surprised to find such intelligent language in the writing. Even the plot was really good. The book centers around a young house cat named Rusty (soon to be called Firepaw). He eventually becomes part of the thunderclan and such. I don't want to give to much away because everyone should totally read these. Apparently there are like 24 or something but I only have the first four. Even though I really liked it I'm probably still going to use the rest of the series as filler books just because I have so many books to read already. However, I strongly recommend these books for everyone. Even if you're sixteen like me and think you are too cool for warrior cat books.

Not A Review

Today lets talk about goodreads.com. I use to find myself on yahooanswers all the time asking for people to recommend books for me, and I almost always was disappointed by the answers. Then one day someone told me to get a goodreads account. Honestly this person deserves like all the A+'s because it is the best thing that's ever been invented. If you like to read, but don't know what to read next then get a goodreads. First the website asks you to rate twenty books that you've read and then it spits out a list of books it thinks you are going to like. I was skeptical at first because I was sure it was just going to offer me the same list everyone else was giving me. But it didn't. Now thanks to goodreads I have over 60 series to read, most of which I didn't even know existed. Which is actually really helpful because my goal was to read over 100 books this year. Get one. Guys. Get. A. Goodreads. You wont regret it.

Reached by Ally Condie

I recommend this book
WARNING: THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS.

Read on at your own risk.

I really really really loved this book. I think it is my favorite out of the whole trilogy. What I like most is that Cassia is not a perfect character and things didn't always work out the way she wanted them. Example: Like how she wasn't immune to the red tablets, and her father dying. In a lot of books things always seem to go too right for the characters and this isn't one. I'm glad that Cassia and Ky ended up together and I'm glad that Xander got a happy ending too. There were parts in this book that made me gasp and have to put it down for a minute. Like when we find out that Cassia is the one that put Ky's data into the matching pool and when Ky got sick. One of my favorite chapters is chapter 44, you know, that chapter that is completely blank. I am completely satisfied with this book.

So I took this review off my goodreads account because I didn't feel like writing it twice.  Also: If you don't have a goodreads account then you need one because it is just the best thing ever invented.

Crossed by Ally Condie

I recommend this book
I found this one to be slightly boring. The entire book took place in like these carvings or whatever. Ally Condie changed the writing up a little bit by narrating it from both Ky's and Cassia's points of view. That was pretty A+ of her. I personally love when different characters narrate each chapter. I just only wish she had given them slightly different styles so it was more realistic. I did however find myself wanting to hear what Ky has to say more than Cassia, but that's probably because I completely hate Cassia. Oh well. You should read it because Reached is the reallllllllly good. I'll get to that in a second.

I forgot about my blogs...

Opps. I've read like 900 million books but i forgot about my blogs. So... sorry about that. Also, Beautiful Chaos is terrible so I never finished it. Which I NEVER do because I hate reading something and then never finishing. Don't even read it.
