Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the sequel to Beautiful Creatures. After reading the first book my expectations were high for the second, and simply put they were not met. Beautiful Darkness is well written and easy to read, but lacks in excitement. The authors brought in the dreaded love triangle. One of my biggest pet peeves with books is when a character dies and then they authors bring them back. And that's exactly what happened in this sequel. The ending to this book was unsatisfactory. I do plan on reading the third one, and I hope it will be better than this. Maybe I just expected too much.
The Beautiful Chaos review may not come for about a week due to the fact I have to wait until Sunday to get it and I have to read The Great Gatsby (review to come on that as well) for my jr. research paper.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl is simply an amazing book. When I picked this book to read I had never heard of it, and honestly I wish I had known about it sooner. Beautiful Creatures is a magical story told by Ethan Wate. The story is basically about a mortal boy who falls in love with a caster girl. When I first started reading I thought "oh great, another love story". But Beautiful Creatures isn't just some love story. There are many magic related problems they have to face. The book is well written and the plot is amazing. I couldn't put it down. It has a new twist in every chapter. I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for an easy read with a fantasy theme then this book is for you.
