I think what did it was knowing how the action was going to look the second time. My friend Sydney went to see it with me this time, it was also her second time seeing it (she's lame so she didn't read the books). She said that when the scene with the lightning tree was going on and Katniss shot the arrow she had looked over to her friend she saw it the first time with and said, "Oh my god, that was so bad ass." This time she felt like it was just "kinda cool". I think the movie had the same effect on me. Except when I read it I thought bad ass, when I saw it the first time I thought cool, and then the second time it was good enough.
And then I realized the suspense was the thing that was missing. During the first movie I was on the edge of my seat, despite knowing what was going to happen. With this movie I didn't feel that. So I think that's what it was missing.
But, like I said in the first review, it was still a totally awesome movie.

That said, it's Gothic Thursday. Sorry for using the # even though there was no reason to.
In my Gothic Fiction class we just finished Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I liked it. It wasn't something I would pick up again, but it was good enough. Next we're reading Dracula, so I'm pumped. Vampires are my shit. Not Twilight though. Sorry Not Sorry.
We took a test on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde today. I probably did okay. It's kind of a hard book to get. It doesn't even really have terrible old time language. It's just the way it was written. I gave it three stars on Goodreads.
Okay it's like 10:30 so I'm going to bed like a normal person. Tomorrow I will post my second review of the Catching Fire movie. Or, I'll try. I make no promises.
